This short film explores how we use our bodies for creative expression. It was shot with a Phantom Flex high speed camera at speeds up to 1500 fps. The dancer featured in this film is Melody Mennite, a principal ballerina at the Houston Ballet. Watching her movements at such high speeds reveals another internal layer to her creative process.
This was a challenging but very rewarding shoot. I hadn't even looked at a Phantom Flex in person until about an hour before we started shooting. Once we got into a rhythm it was pretty seamless. After the shoot I took the raw files and used Glue Tools to convert them to Pro Res 4444 and edited in FCP.
